Local Area Network & Wide Area Network:

• Expert knowledge on LAN bridging & switching. Clear concept on transparent bridging, store-and forward, cut-through and fragment-free switching, segmentation and performance issue of LAN using these technologies. Configuration of port security on switch using MAC address.
• Application of spanning tree protocol in a redundant topology of LAN to eliminate loop in data flow.
• Layer II traffic segmentation using VLAN to control LAN broadcast, management of VLAN using VTP, switch port trunking using 802.1q and ISL trunk encapsulation, inter VLAN routing.

Communication Protocol:

• TCP/IP communication protocol suit, UDP, ARP, ICMP to manage, troubleshoot network connection.
• IP V4 addressing and sub-netting for global routing and layer 3 traffic segmentation. CIDR, Private Addressing, NAT and DHCP for effective use of public IP addresses.
• IP V6 addresses, its design issue and inter operateability with IP V4 addresses.
• Dynamic IP routing with Rip (Version 1&2), IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS and BGP4 routing protocol.

Network Security:

• Expert on design and analyzing network security thread, network privacy with conventional encryption in different layer of OSI reference model. DES Triple DES.
• IPSec tunneling for VPN, creating standard and extended access list (ACL) to filter packet.
• Experience to work with Cisco PIX firewall and IDS system to detect and analyze network abuse.
